Battery appears to be dead
The primary reason for a non-functional lift, particularly in solar-powered models, is often a depleted battery. Users frequently neglect proper battery maintenance and fail to provide supplementary charges to solar-powered units when necessary. The process of charging a battery results in the evaporation of fluid, and insufficient fluid levels significantly impede battery function while also posing a risk of explosion. It is crucial not only to replace a faulty battery but also to investigate the underlying reasons for its discharge. While batteries are typically designed to endure for about 3 years, diligent maintenance can extend their lifespan considerably. The occurrence of a malfunctioning solar panel is exceedingly uncommon.
STEPS:
- Diagnostics Test: Battery
- Diagnostics Test: Solor Panel
- Diagnostics Test: AC Charger
How to Re-Program a Remote
System coding (PAIRING) is necessary if you need to replace a receiver or use it with a handheld device other than the one it was paired with when purchased.
For most recent devices follow the ClassicLine AUTOMATIC PAIRING procedure:
- As soon as the receiver is powered, within 5 seconds press down any 3 keys on the handheld at the same time (except STOP) until the YELLOW LED flashes 3 times.
- After this triple flash, the handheld/receiver system will be paired and this PAIRING will remain valid until a new one is made. To verify, test the commands of the system.
For older systems not updated to the latest version, follow the
MANUAL PAIRING procedure:
- Remove power from the receiver.
- Open it by unscrewing the two screws next to the connector (CNTR8 and CNTR20) or the four screws on the bottom (CNTR32).
- Locate and press the blue coding button on the electronic board.
- Power the receiver and keep the blue button pressed for 3-4 sec .; the green LED on the receiver board starts flashing, then release the button.
- Simultaneously press any 3 keys on the handheld within 15 seconds of switching on (until the green LED stops flashing).
- At this point the handheld is coded with the receiver; verification is carried out by testing the commands of the system.
- Close the receiver by tightening the two screws (CNTR8 and CNTR20) or the four screws (CNTR32) removed in step 2.
Pump makes clicking noise but does not run
The sound you’re presently detecting is the result of the valve coils effectively activating the valves. However, there seems to be an issue with the motor’s initiation. The most common factor behind this occurrence is a battery that has run out of charge.
STEPS:
- Diagnostics Test: Battery
- Diagnostics Test: Starter Solenoid
- Diagnostics Test: Water Exposure
- Check All Wiring
Lift works but does not lift boat
The lift operates smoothly in the absence of a boat, but when attempting to lift the boat, it halts its upward movement. If the motor ceases running, it’s highly probable that the cause is a depleted or faulty battery. Conversely, if the motor remains active during the lifting attempt, it’s more likely an indication of insufficient pressure, exceeding the weight limit, or issues with cylinder sealing.
STEPS:
- Is The Boat Over Capacity?
- Diagnostics Test: Battery
- Diagnostics Test: Pressure Relief Valves
- Diagnostics Test: Cylinders
Up goes down and down goes up
If the wiring or hydraulics are hooked up backwards, the lift will operate backwards. Ask if the RC, cylinders or Powerpack has been recently swapped out to help isolate the problem.
STEPS:
- Check All Wiring
- Diagnostics Test: Hoses
Lift drifts down
Lifts are expected to maintain their position for prolonged durations. Paradise advises securing the boat in the fully raised stance to ensure its locked over-center. If the lift experiences downward movement while in a middle position, potential causes include incorrect hydraulic connections, a leaking hose, improper seated check valve or a deteriorated piston seal within a cylinder.
STEPS:
- Diagnostics Test: Hoses
- Diagnostics Test: Fluid Levels
- Diagnostics Test: Blow By
- Diagnostics Test: Check Valve
